"Borrowed Time" - (Doctor/Master - PG-13)

  • Dec. 23rd, 2009 at 10:49 PM
DW: "Home"
Title: Borrowed Time
Characters: Doctor/Master
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 4690
Summary: No doubt this entire thing is going to be struck off on Friday, but never mind, I'll mark it as AU later on. Inspired by the trailer for The End of Time, this is mine and [info]blaiyzed's take on the Big Reunion and what's going to happen... even though we know it won't *sadface*. More to come, yay or nay? You decide.
Warnings: SPOILERS for The End of Time, obviously. I apologise for the utterly lame title.

A Fresh Start

Okay, so I really don't want to die on here, even though I'm aware that right now that's what I'm letting myself do. I mean Jesus Christ, I'm not even trying anymore am I? I'm filling my journal with mindless pap that no one ever reads while I sit in a corner fumbling with my social paranoia, re-evaluating my self-worth when I could be doing something productive. So here it is. I'm putting my foot down. I may not be a prolific ficwriter all the time, and I do have pressing RL issues but I want to keep what little fandom presence I have left.

I'm going to try. Hard. For you guys who watch me and read these journal entries even though if I were you I would have tired of my empty ramblings a long time ago. And there I go again, evaluating myself, but fuck me if I don't care. I love you guys - and I'm stone-cold sober right now, btw - so screw this writer's block, screw my ineptness and lazy disposition. I've revamped my journal and took a good look at my watch list and all the people who, despite whatever the hell my brain comes up with to the contrary, actually care what I post here.

This bitch, is back.

Ahoy, hiatus!

Okay, so the people who've commented on my LJ or posted to me at any point in the last few days will have noticed I've suddenly stopped replying - don't worry, I'm not ignoring you! This really is a case of my very good self getting ready for college. This includes finishing summer assignments, reading a few books and scraping together the final bits and bobs I need for next term. I don't know when I'll be back but it'll probably be a few days into next week, after I've settled down in my first few classes and back into the college rhythm. I will still be replying to everyone - the alerts are there in my inbox, ready to be answered!

But for now, have a random story )

Dear LJ.

Also, today heralds my last exam! I'll see you at the finish line, where I will be collasping into a tub of cookie dough and alcomahol. Though not together. That would be weird.

An Extended Absence

Well, as most of you know, I've been thundering through this college year quite nicely, with all its ups and downs and the odd panic attack thrown into the mix to spice things up. It seems like I've only been here five minutes, and for that reason I don't feel like I'm prepared for the exams coming up next month at all. Finals are well on their way, and I'm in a state of panic (again) so I've decided that the only way to change that is to go into some kind of extended revision session, running it like a damn military drill until I do know what the hell I'm going to do when I get in that exam hall in five weeks' time.

Obviously, I don't trust myself to keep to this vow of educational benefit, so this is just a notification that I'm going on hiatus from LJ up until the 2nd June, which will be the last exam I'll have (a re-sit, go figure); the majority of my exams bar that one are around the 20th May so you may see me popping a post up once or twice between then and the re-sit. But other than that, I'm off. I wish everyone well, and I can't wait to talk to you all again soon - those who have my MSN may see me online every so often, but not for extended periods of time. I've disabled 'sign in automatically' so I won't be tempted when I turn on the computer for note-making, and you're allowed to bitchslap me if you see me going against my word. This post will provide enough incentive for me to stay away from LJ.. I hope.

I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to everyone via IM - but those who have my number are welcome to text me, and those who don't can email. Just expect a delay in replies, since I'm going to be spending the majority of my time in the college library. No ficcing, no IMing, no LJ - nothing but the sweet, sweet sound of pen against mock-exam paper and frantic note-taking. Worst five weeks of my life. :P

So take care, you crazy lot. I'll miss you :) Try not to blow up anything or start a mass-orgy while I'm gone? I'd hate to miss out on all the fun. ;)

"Memento Mori" - (Theta/Koschei - PG)

  • Apr. 16th, 2009 at 8:44 PM
DW: "Doc A"
Title: Memento Mori
Characters: Theta/Koschei
Rating: PG
Word Count: 2418
Summary: 'Koschei had been a fool to think that Theta would not run again; he'd heard the tales. A Time Lord's fate was written in the Schism, their lives left to inspiration, madness or cowardice.'
Warnings: Slightly AU, depending on how your Theta/Koschei canon falls.
Note: I've had this fic planned out for a couple of weeks now, but I've never managed to get it all in a decent enough order to flesh out until today. I've discovered that emo!Koschei needs a little bit more persuasion to come out of his box compared to emo!Theta - but all in all I think it turned out well.

Rating: NC-17
Characters: Theta/Koschei
WARNINGS: Some swearing, sexual implications, physical and mental abuse, all that lovely stuff. Oh, and be warned, this recital is guaranteed to knock your socks off. The author has spoken.

"Useless" - (Original Fic - R)

  • Apr. 8th, 2009 at 6:13 PM
RR: "Eddie B"
Title: Useless
Characters: N/A
Rating: R
Word Count: 1753
Summary: 'He relived the horror that rose in his gut time and time again, every time the man climaxed, spilled himself into his unprotected body.'
Warnings: Original Fic; human trafficking, rape, bondage, drug use, imprisonment, and homosexuality (of course). Just like my last darkfic, this has a lot of graphic imagery and is outrageously dark.
Note: And this is both why I don't do freewriting and why I should also do it more often. The first half came out much better on the computer than it was written down on paper, so I decided I might as well finish it. Special thanks to [info]filthgoblin who helped me realise where this was going.

"Out of Time" - (Gen - R)

  • Apr. 6th, 2009 at 11:57 AM
LoM: "1973"
Title: Out of Time
Characters: Sam (Gen)
Rating: R
Word Count: 2488
Summary: 'Okay. Alright. Surprise me. What year is it supposed to be?'
Warnings: A hell of a lot of graphic imagery, and very, very dark. Not your bog-standard Sam!fic. Also a tiny bit AU, with a non-canon concept or two thrown in there. Lots of swearing, sexual implications, you know the score.
Note: After falling in love with David Peace's writing style, a light went off in my head and suddenly inspiration was flowing out of me like I was the bloody Holy Spirit. Deciding it was perfect for the gritty surrealism of Life on Mars, I sat down to write a little snippet just to see if it worked. That snippet grew into this fic. References to David Bowie's 'Life on Mars', The Kinks' 'Yes Sir, No Sir', 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', 'The Wizard of Oz' and 'Paper Moon'.
